Our Role
Lift Humanity Foundation plays a leading role in the intersection of climate advocacy, sustainable development, and social justice
At Lift Humanity Foundation, our work is centered on championing climate justice by actively influencing climate-related policies, promoting resilient agricultural practices, and advocating for a green transition that prioritizes the needs of the most vulnerable populations. We are deeply committed to conducting research and shaping policy through evidence-based advocacy that informs and guides the development of inclusive laws and sustainable practices at local, national, and continental levels. Our efforts extend to promoting environmental education, where we raise awareness about climate change, pollution, and public health through targeted community outreach, school programs, and large-scale public campaigns.
In addition to advocacy and education, we strive to empower vulnerable communities by providing livelihood support, emergency relief, healthcare sensitization, and access to essential resources that help individuals and families break free from the cycle of poverty. Central to our approach is the effort to amplify community voices through media, utilizing radio, television, and digital platforms to share untold stories, spread critical awareness, and mobilize public action on issues affecting both people and the planet. Through this integrated model, we work to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight for a just, equitable, and sustainable future.
How We Work
At Lift Humanity Foundation, our approach is rooted in collaboration, advocacy, research, and community engagement. We work to ensure that climate action and sustainable development are inclusive, evidence-based, and people-centered. Here's how we drive impact:
1. Policy Influencing for Sustainable Development
We mobilize civil society organizations, women, youth, and persons living with disabilities (PLDs) to participate in national and regional climate consultations, particularly around Nigeria’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Through these platforms, we ensure that the voices of vulnerable communities shape the policies and frameworks that affect their future.
2. Youth Mobilization and Public Engagement
We engage and empower young people across Nigeria and Africa to become climate justice champions. By advancing evidence-based advocacy, we influence policies on natural resource management and support local communities in building climate adaptation and mitigation strategies.
3. Research, Knowledge & Capacity Development
LHF partners with academic and research institutions to produce joint studies, policy analyses, and development plans. Our work provides critical, evidence-backed insights that inform national and regional decision-making and strengthen the voice of civil society.
4. Government Accountability for Sustainable Development
As a dynamic civil society organization, we actively monitor and hold governments accountable to their commitments on climate action and sustainable development. We track progress, expose gaps, and advocate for policies that serve the people and the planet.
5. Institutional Governance and Strengthening
We facilitate dialogues and experience-sharing across states and sectors—bringing together CSOs, vulnerable groups, media, and government actors. These engagement meetings help bridge knowledge gaps, strengthen institutions, and foster collaboration for more inclusive climate processes.
